Over time, and for many generations, markets have always been the center of trading and even social activities that tell the stories of the old days. But what has constantly added an enduring charm to the Thai markets is their treasure trove of cherished Thai traditions and culture that have been the hallmarks of our rich Thai heritage.

To mark the special milestone of The Erawan Group s operation of a total of 12 hotels, we would like to depict the uniqueness of Thai history and way of life through these 12 markets $ each a hub of activity and heart of the community. Some are vignettes of the old days&to refresh our memories. Some are portraits of the present time&to show how they have evolved in the face of modernity. Yet all a representation of a distinguished Thai identity always worth preserving.

During 20 November 2008 to 8 January 2009, The Erawan Group (Public) Co., Ltd. is pleased to have the opportunity to send a joyful smile to all by presenting Black & White Photo Exhibition Land of Smiles with 12 winning photos from 12 topics to present Thais3 cultures such as Welcome to Thailand, Thai Food, Kick Boxing, Elephant, Tricycle, Floating Market, Songkran, Loy Krathong, Classical Thai Performing Arts, Respect, Buddhism and Long Live the King together with 24 selected photos (from total of 800 photos). In order to keep this very enriching essence of the Thai identity alive and thriving, the company has initiated a photo contest entitled Land of Smiles. all proceeds from the sale of these lovely pictures @ Baht .3,500.- will benefit the Elephant Hospital and the Friends of the Asian Elephant

Donation for Elephant Hospital, Friends of the Asian Elephant, Lumpang

The Erawan Group donated 113,415 baht, raised from pictures and postcards sold at +Thailand The land of Smiles, exhibition, to Ms.Soraida Salwala, Founder and Secretary General of the Friends of the Asian Elephant. The donation is done to support the works of Elephant Hospital in Lumpang.

The deeply appreciated elephant photography to be exhibited

Apart from the great appreciation to all the participants in the Erawan Preserves Elephants, Photography Contest 2006, The Erawan Group $ a determined organization that firmly volunteers to support, promote, protect and prolong the lives of the national symbolic Thai elephants $ would like to welcome you all to the arty presentation of our well-deserved photographs from the contest in the Erawan Gallery s event entitled +The Elephants Photography Exhibition, on 27th Nov $ 4th Dec 2006, 1st Floor, Amarin Plaza (Ratchaprasong Intersection).
